1,600 sq ft deck, ColumbiaPrime Construction builds wood decks across Middle Tennessee, from a small backyard landing to a full wraparound. We frame square, flash the ledger, and set footings below frost line so the deck stays level for years. Pressure treated pine starts about $50 per square foot, cedar runs higher, and your free estimate gives the exact number in 1 to 2 days. We build in Franklin, Brentwood, Nashville, Hendersonville, and Gallatin, and we bring the same family crew to every job.
What is included
Square framing
Joists set on crowns, beams dead level, no racking under load.
Ledger flashing
Metal flashing behind the house ledger stops the rot that sinks most decks.
Footings below frost
Sonotubes to 12 inches below local frost depth, set in solid subgrade.
Railings and stairs
Code height railings, comfortable stair rises, and grip where you need it.
Stain and seal
We time the stain to the wood moisture so it soaks in and holds.
Permits handled
We make sure the right permits are in place for every deck that needs one.
Materials and options
Pressure treated pine
The workhorse. Affordable, strong, and the right call for most Middle Tennessee yards. We let it weather 60 to 90 days before staining so the treatment dries and the stain takes. Pine takes stain well and lasts 15 to 20 years with upkeep.
Cedar
Warm, rot resistant, and beautiful without stain. Cedar costs more than pine but lasts and looks the part on a nicer home. We seal it to keep the color from going gray. Cedar naturally resists bugs and moisture, which is why it has been the deck wood of choice in Middle Tennessee for decades.
Composite and PVC
For low maintenance we install leading composite brands that never need stain or seal. More upfront, far less over 20 years. See our composite deck page for the full breakdown of cost, upkeep, and lifespan.
Railings and lighting
Metal balusters, wood rails, or cable. We can wire stair lights, post caps, and rope lighting so the deck is usable after dark. Lighting extends the hours you use the deck and adds curb appeal from the street.
Ballpark
About $50 per sq ft installed (pressure treated pine)
