Shade, style, and a place to gather
Pergolas that frame the view.
A pergola gives you shade without a roof and defines a space without walls. Prime Construction builds cedar and pressure treated pergolas across Middle Tennessee, freestanding or attached, with notched rafter tails and optional lighting.
Cedar pergola frameA pergola gives you shade without a roof and defines a space without walls. Prime Construction builds cedar and pressure treated pergolas across Middle Tennessee, freestanding or attached, with notched rafter tails and optional lighting. We build in Franklin, Brentwood, Hendersonville, Gallatin, and Sumner County, and we give you a real quote in 1 to 2 days.
What is included
Cedar or PT pine
Cedar for the look, pressure treated pine for the budget. Both built solid.
Freestanding or attached
Attached to the house or set on its own posts, whatever the yard calls for.
Notched rafter tails
Notched tails that seat clean and shadow right at sunset.
Privacy screens
Add a lattice or slat privacy screen on one side.
Lighting
Rope lighting or post cap lights so it glows after dark.
Set in concrete
Posts set in concrete footings so it never racks or leans.
Materials and options
Cedar versus pressure treated
Cedar costs more and looks warmer, and it resists rot without stain. Pressure treated pine is the budget choice and still looks good stained. We price both on your estimate so you can compare.
Freestanding versus attached
Attached pergolas tie to the house with a ledger. Freestanding pergolas sit on their own posts, set in concrete footings. Freestanding works when you want shade away from the house, like over a pool or patio.
Rafter tails
We notch the rafter tails so they seat clean over the beams and cast a straight shadow line at sunset. The tails are the detail that makes a pergola look built, not bolted together.
Privacy and lighting
Add a slat privacy screen on the neighbor side and rope lighting or post caps for the evening. Lighting extends the hours you use the pergola and adds a warm glow after dark.
